India’s solar energy capacity rose 91% in 3 years: Govt

India’s photo voltaic power capability has elevated from 28,180 megawatts in March 2019 to 53,996 megawatts by the top of 2021-22, Union Minister of New and Renewable Vitality and Energy RK Singh knowledgeable Parliament earlier this week. Subsequently, within the final three years, the nation’s photo voltaic capability has elevated by about 91 %.

The cumulative photo voltaic power capability on the finish of 2019-20, 2020-21, and 2021-22 is at 34,627, 40,085, and 53,996 mega watts, respectively.

Moreover, in response to a query whether or not the federal government has set any goal to extend photo voltaic capability throughout the nation, the minister replied: “The Authorities has set a goal to realize 500 GW put in capability from non-fossil fuels by 2030, consistent with the announcement of the Hon’ble Prime Minister at CoP-26.”
