June 9, 2023: A mission designed to enhance enterprise alternatives for European corporations serving the battery sector and counter the impression of Asian rivals was launched on June 2, Schuler Group introduced.
Schuler mentioned that the ‘ENLARGE – interoperable manufacturing as an enabler for a data-driven battery worth chain’ mission is supported by funding from Germany’s federal training and analysis.
The purpose is to assemble the experience of German and European corporations to serve the rising marketplace for battery cell manufacturing gear and to create a counterweight to established suppliers, particularly from the Asin area, Schuler mentioned.
The mission will run for 3 years and goals to develop uniform methods for information change, described as a “form of meta-standard for battery cell manufacturing” to advertise cooperation and networking amongst firm.
Hermann Uchtmann, head of battery mass manufacturing options at Schuler, mentioned: “The purpose is versatile, networked and adaptive battery manufacturing.
“That is the one means that mechanical and plant engineering in Germany and Europe will be capable of bid for gear for the gigafactories which can be being arrange all over the world.”
Along with Schuler, mission companions and companions embody the German Engineering Federation, Fraunhofer Analysis Unit for Battery Cell FFB, Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation IPA and Siemens.
Schuler accomplished its acquisition of the Sovema Group in September.
Included within the acquisition are all Sovema entities together with Solith, which supplies gear for lithium ion cell and module manufacturing, Sovel — forming methods for lead and lithium storage applied sciences — and a check gear firm of US-based battery Bitrode.
